Hotel Mitra was established and commemorated in the year of 1983 by the ex President of Republic of Indonesia, Mr. B.J Habibie. At that time Mr. B.J Hbibie was still at the Minister of Research and Technology position. Hotel Mitra was owned by PT Dirgantara Indonesia, the producer of National Indonesia Helicopter and Plane, under the management of Mr. B.J Habibie. This hotel was established to fulfill the need of accommodation and catering for all guests of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, especially the foreigners.
In the advance journey of its operation, at 1999 when PT Dirgantara Indonesia had a financial problems, Hotel Mitra had to finance its own operation. Still under the holding company PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Hotel Mitra was opened to serve public, while its main function was still the same, to fulfill the need of accommodation and catering of holding company's guests.
At February 13th ,2004 when the financial problems of PT Dirgantara Indonesia got worst, the holding company legally sold the hotel to a private corporate. The new owner then opened the hotel fully for public. The Hotel Mitra with 21 years old establishment and equipments still looked very strong and attractive and had regular market in the area. The renovation then became a routine agenda for this hotel.
At February 2005, the big change was done. Hotel Mitra changed the corporate logo and corporate color and its concept as well. The new concept was made to create the image of the hotel. The motto 'Your second home in Bandung' was created and placed as the part of the brand. This motto was made to describe the convenience and comfort, which was the strength of the hotel as had been proven since its former times. Many long stay customers repeat and came back staying at The Hotel Mitra, made this hotel feels like home for its market.
With 40 deluxe rooms and 2 meeting rooms, The Hotel Mitra is now ready to serve public customers. 50 % of governmental institution market and corporate is the regular market for this hotel. According to management survey, our hotel is categorized as business hotel where many business people feel comfortable staying at Hotel Mitra as their business accommodation in the weekdays. While on the weekend, family market from Jakarta and other local cities in Indonesia are the most potential guests as Bandung has been so famous for the shopping tourism in West Java, Indonesia.
